A one day course delivered on site or at an approved training centre in the Thames Valley Region. Additional centres may be available subject to approval. Please call to discuss requirements.
Content
The course was originally designed to be delivered to all personnel excavating on behalf of major water companies in the South East of England. During the course we cover the hazards of excavation work and how to minimise them, reading and understanding plans, tracing techniques using Radiodetection or C.Scope equipment. Direct connection and Induction techniques are taught for location of metallic services. Non-metallic tracing techniques including use of the Sonde can be included if required. The modules include:
Pre-use checks on equipment,
Reading plans and schematic drawings,
Tracing underground apparatus using equipment in a variety of modes,
Identifying damaged apparatus and deciding course of action required.
Assessment and Certification
Assessment is by multi-choice question paper and observed exercises |
